Lilah was born with spina bifida, a lifelong condition that affects the spinal cord and can cause paralysis and other physical disabilities. At just one week old, she underwent her first surgery and spent six weeks in the NICU. When Lilah was two years old, her father passed away unexpectedly, leaving her mother to raise four children alone. God later blessed their family with Mike, who became a loving husband, father, and source of support. For nearly ten years, Lilah's condition was relatively stable. However, since October 2025, she has faced a series of serious medical complications, undergoing approximately 19 surgeries, including 12 major procedures in a single month. These surgeries have included treatments for Chiari malformation, shunt revisions, and a tethered spinal cord. As a result, Lilah is now paralyzed from the waist down and has lost feeling in her right arm. She still faces additional surgeries and months of intensive rehabilitation. When she returns home, significant modifications will be needed to make her home accessible and support her daily care and independence. Despite these challenges, Lilah's faith in Jesus Christ remains strong. Her courage, resilience, and joyful spirit continue to inspire her family, friends, and medical team. While her family's life has changed dramatically, they remain steadfast in their trust that God has a purpose for Lilah's life and ask for continued prayers during her recovery journey.
