Arnett Family
Finding out we were having twin girls was one of the happiest moments of our lives. We were so excited (and a little nervous) getting ready to bring Ada and Birdie home. But at just 25 weeks, I had a sudden placental abruption, and two days later, they were born over three months early. Nothing could have prepared us for what came next. After a stable first day, Ada took a turn. Several tests, scans, and conversations with her medical team later, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let her go. We were shattered, but had to keep going for Birdie. She spent 210 days in the NICU and fought through more than any baby should have to. She came home with oxygen and a G-tube, but she’s been making incredible progress! She has graduated from most therapies and recently cleared by neurology. Birdie is our miracle, and Ada is always with us in everything we do. Her presence is part of our home, our hearts, and her twin sister’s journey.
